A Big Christmas Sing 2025
For the past 4 years we have collaborated with Southeastern and Thanet Big Sing Community Choir to put on a Christmas concert at Margate train station. Each year our ambition grows and 2025 was the most popular so far.
Thanet Big Sing Community Choir are a vibrant and friendly community choir, united by a shared love of singing and led by Music Director Tony Castro. Their jolly catalogue of Christmas songs always attracts rail users and create a festive ambiance.
This year is the first time we’ve commissioned an artist led workshop for passers by and members of the audience. Nick Morley, lino cut specialist, lead a drop in Christmas card making workshop. Using plasticine and coloured ink, participants were helped by Nick to ink their plasticine shapes and print them on to their cards.
What to expect next year
Each year we try to make this event more accessible and to reach a wider audience. It would be great if passengers getting off the train could walk into the booking hall and be engulfed by the space activated with music, art and festive spirit.
